Porous earth

'Porous Earth' is a journey of a river traced through dance and poetry. This scintillating production features Kiranmayee Madupu, versatile bharatanatyam dancer from India, as she portrays a river, her birth in the mountains, her encounters, adventures, troubles, salvation and peace, until she finally merges in the sea.

This is choreographed by Hemamalini Arni, a renowned Guru from Hyderabad, India, who with an experience of over 5 decades in teaching and a legacy of her Gurus T. Balasaraswati and Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai, has carved a niche in the world of Bharatanatyam. This thematic dance production is based on an English poem by the same name by well known IPS Officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon. The poem is a part of her fourth anthology 'Minnaminni'.

The dance has been set to original music score composed by Sri Ravi Kiran Savunur with narration in the voice of Kiranmayee Madupu.
